Installation techniques for door hinges

November 1st at 5:24pm

Prepare tools and materials:

Ensure that you have the necessary tools, such as a spirit level, pencil, hole opener, screwdriver, etc. ‌

Check if hinges, screws, and other accessories are complete.

Determine installation location and quantity:

Determine the minimum door edge distance based on the thickness of the door panel and the type of hinge. ‌

Determine the number of hinges to be installed based on the height of the door panel and the functional requirements of the hinges.

Determine the installation position based on the door opening method (full cover, half cover, embedded).

Draw lines and openings:

Use a pencil to draw a line on the door panel and mark the opening position. The drilling edge distance is generally 5mm. ‌

Use a hole opener to drill a mounting hole of approximately 35mm on the door panel, with a drilling depth of typically 12mm.

Fixed hinge:

Insert the hinge into the hinge cup hole on the door panel and secure the hinge cup with self tapping screws. ‌

Open the hinge, align and insert it into the side panel for installation, and then fix the hinge base with screws. ‌

Debugging and adjustment:

After installation, test the effect of opening and closing the door back and forth to ensure that the door can be opened and closed smoothly.

Adjust the position and clearance of the door as needed using the hinge's adjustment function. Generally, the clearance after closing the door is about 2mm. ‌

Attention:

During installation, ensure that the hinge is tightly attached to the door panel and side panel to avoid loosening.

If you encounter installation problems, you can refer to the hinge installation manual or seek professional help. ‌

By following the above steps, it is possible to ensure the correct installation of the door hinge, allowing the door to open and close smoothly, while improving its service life and safety.
